It was purely by chance that the Burghley Horse Trials started in 1961 because there was due to be a three-day event at Harewood House. However, that was cancelled due to a suspected outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease. When the Marquess of Exeter heard this he invited the British Horse Society to move the …
To celebrate a birthday we decided to try The George – just the 2 of us. When we arrived we inquired whether they had a table outside – and they did. The Sea Bass was delicious as was the Cromer Dressed Crab. Along with a fine chilled bottle of white wine it all went down …
This place oozes character – being so old the stairs aren’t even level! It’s a great informal place to have decent drink and food. Once more if you like thin pizza bases then you are sure to love it. It’s a great place to come whether there’s just the two of you or a whole …

We were a table of 13. A place of this size should be able to cope with it but we had to wait over an hour for the food. They were very apologetic, but I must admit I’m starting to hear mixed reviews about the service here. The decor etc is all great and the …
We fancied going out for lunch and we’d heard a lot about the newly opened Cosy Club and thought we’d give it a go. The transformation of the place has been done well, from what was previously the local Post Office Sorting Office. It’s an unusual mix of old and new with an almost seemingly …
