OK – back at the Cosy Club for a New Years eve meal booked by a friend. Not strictly for the third time, as I’ve been back a few times on other evenings just for a drink with friends at the bar. They were enjoyable times with no issues.
However, it is the third time for food. This time there were over 20 of us. I was a bit apprehensive. We didn’t have to wait quite so long as last time and it was a pleasant evening. However, there were still some basic service issues and they had been given some specific instructions about the kids meals but failed to do as requested.
Food and drink was good and yes they were busy (again) – but surely decent service is not too much to ask? So to summarise – I won’t rush back, but it’s safe to say the Cosy Club will be a success in Stamford because of it’s location and the style of the place and the sort of food they serve – it’s seem like a sure fire winner of a formula. If they got the service right – it would truly be a great place.
Would I recommend it? If somebody was going at an off-peak time, then yes. Otherwise, no – there are plenty of other nice places to eat in Stamford where you get better service.
