ASK Italian – still what you expect

So ASK has had a revamp so we thought we’d give it a go.

What’s changed? Well, there are some colourful tables & chairs. There are some interesting wine glasses and jugs and apparently they’ve asked some expert Italians for advice, including Theo Randall who is quoted on the ASK website as saying, “I’m proud to be helping inspire the team at ASK Italian to develop an authentic Italian menu”. Interesting that I could find no reference to ASK on Theo’s website :-/

There were 7 of us, and the 2 children were happy with the crayons that were provided to scrawl over the place mats, which in turn could be made into ladybirds (if origami is your thing).

There were lots of families in the restaurant so if you have a phobia of kids, it’s probably best to stay away. One comment was that the menu setup was confusing. I can’t quite remember what the variations were but it was something like the main menu, special deal menu and seasonal specials too.

Even the waitress forgot to give us all the correct menus when it came to the desserts so something is not quite right. The food was fine, the service was fine but at the end of the day it seemed no different than what you’d expect from this sort of place – like many of the other Italian restaurant chains…. ..oh yes, and it was a bit chilly! Though to end on a high, the APPLE RUSTICA was delicious.
