We fancied going out for lunch and we’d heard a lot about the newly opened Cosy Club and thought we’d give it a go. The transformation of the place has been done well, from what was previously the local Post Office Sorting Office.
It’s an unusual mix of old and new with an almost seemingly mish-mash of tables and chairs but it works. The vintage mirrors, lighting all mixes together to produce a good ambiance. There are kids games, Jenga, Scrabble etc to keep the younger ones amused so all in all the concept works well and it’s right in the middle of town.
Clearly the service is still in it’s early days, and needs improving. For example, we asked what was in the “root mash” and the waitress went away and asked the chef. A few minutes later, the reply “root vegetables” – accurate maybe but not the most helpful reply. However, overall the food was good and so no doubt we’ll be back again at some point in the future and hopefully the moose staring from the wall will see an improvement in service over the coming weeks!
